Riff-o-matic
This site is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED! It provides tablature of a vast number of songs, not only for the guitar but for the bass as well. Each song is broken down and explained, and also includes an audio clip of it being played. The extra touch that we loved is the ability to download some of the tabs in powertab format or PDF format.

Guitar Lessons

Free	Free guitar tuition sites on the net.
Paid	Paid tuition sites provide very high quality lessons, most with audio and/or video accompaniment. Most come with sample lessons that you can try out before you pay for membership.
Books	Various books or e-books that teach you how to play the guitar.
DVD/Videos	DVD/Video lessons are another good way of learning the guitar at home. They provide detailed guitar lessons and it's like having your very own teacher.
Software	Various sites out there provide guitar lesson software. These often include sections explaining particular techniques (using text, video and audio), then several pieces of music to test out your new skill often with background accompaniment.
